Overtired

With such long hours and intensive course work, it was bound to happen. Shhhhh....don't mention how I stay up late online after I come home - it's irrelevant....I swear!

But, regardless of the cause, I find myself at the point where I'm so overtired that I'm getting silly. You know the space. We've all been there. The slightest thing can set off a laughing spree when you're this tired. Couple that with my penchant for seeing stars and it's a blog entry in the making.

After listening to 8 hours of the HP Openview instructor, I've finally placed his familiar voice. He sounds like Tommy Lee Jones. Okay, this in itself isn't funny. But, I was relieved to finally place the voice, though. It's like a song that you only half-remember, yet you can't get the tune out of your head. It drives you nuts.

So ~ we're in this class on HP Openview (software that manages network equipment) for the last 4 hours of a 12 hour day. The software uses SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) to discover network devices. The information it gathers is retrieved from a Management Information Base. Yes, that's right -- it takes the information from the MIB.
