The Edge of the Earth

I was sitting on the edge of the Earth the other day and looked a little too far over and fell off...

Actually, I'm still studying for that exam. It's a tough one (one of the top two toughest of the series). I wanted to be able to take it last week, but didn't get through the whole study guide and knew I wasn't ready yet. I only have three more chapters staring me in the face and taunting me... I should have them knocked out by tonight. Then there's the practice questions to ready me and get my nerve up... Then I call and schedule the exam. This process many times feels more like a $125 bet than anything else. I bet that I'm ready to pass the exam. If I'm wrong, I lose the money; if I'm right, I mark off one more test as "passed"...

My mom has been a big help in all this. She's recently retired and started to funnel her energies into cooking. I went to see her yesterday for a while and she loaded me up with a number of containers of her cooking (mmmmmmmmmmm - good stuff). This way I can focus on studying and when I get hungry - just heat and eat. It's better than McDonalds.... Better than McDonalds? Yup. I haven't seen a McDs yet that has ravioli, eggplant, zucchini soup, pasta with peas or squash fritters.
