Snowing AGAIN...

Yeah, yeah, yeah... it's snowing again.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

What a great time to snow - a holiday. Most of the cars are off the road and the professionals can do their job. Although the snow is falling faster than they can plow, I'm sure the roads will be halfway decent by the morning.

And once again, they trot out all the statistics on blizzards... Yawn. I survived the blizzard of '78 (in Rhode Island) - everything else is a piece of cake. This blast of snow is hitting from New York all the way up the coast... Yeah, the blizzard of '96 in the Beltway area... been there, done that... I even made it to work that day (from Manassas to Reston). 8^P

Yeah...I've seen much worse - this is just a "big snow." The flakes are light and powdery. The wind is blowing hard and not much is sticking to the power lines and tree branches. 12"-18" expected...

The most difficult part of this storm will be: Where do we put the snow? We just had a large storm and the snow was still piled high. Now we're getting another round of fluffy stuff.

Well... there's an empty parking spot next to mine. Uh - I mean "was" an empty spot. When I opened my door to look out, I noticed that I was pushing snow to open the door. Not a good thing. So...about two hours ago, I went out and shovelled. I cleared a path from my front door to the walkway. The snow on both sides of the front step is about window-high. And it's still snowing. Then I looked at my poor car. I had to clear the pile in front of it and make a path to get to the doors. So where do I put it? Well....no one's parking in that spot next to me.... PLOP! There is now a mound of snow in that "empty" spot that looks like a car was buried beneath it. And it's still snowing.

My freezer is full. I have gas heat and a gas stove. I have plenty of candles. I have a stack of books to read. And (most importantly) I have a fresh pot of Starbucks coffee... Ahhhhhhhhh........ let it snow, let it snow, let it snow....
