Carbon-Biased

As I was reading...yeah, I know how unusual *that* is...anyway...

I ran across a reference to CC and BCC regarding email. We all use it. We all know it's there. Minasi called it "Carbon Copy" and "Blind Carbon Copy."

I giggled.

How many of the younger crowd have even seen a piece of carbon paper, much less used one? Can you still buy it? [I still have respect for any secretary who was able to handle an original with white, yellow, pink and green onion skin copies with ease. Every time I tried it, I ended up with confetti. ]

It amazes me that we still use the term. Carbon paper went the way of the typewriter. It won't be long before we have to explain what it is to someone blinking like a deer in headlights.

I don't want that to happen. I make a conscious effort to call it a "Courtesy Copy" instead. No Carbon Required. Let's quit carbon dating ourselves...
