Well...tomorrow's the big day! Blogathon 2005 starts at 9:00 am (Eastern) and runs for 24 hours. I've been looking forward to this since the last one ended in 2003.
The 2003 Blogathon was my first. I really enjoyed it, but realized in the midst of it that I had overburdened myself with a heavy theme. On the hour I posted a pic from around the area and on the half I intended to post a poem. The pics kept me hopping and the poetry was rushed. Sometimes the most I could squeek out was just one stanza before it was time to hit the 'submit' button... During those hours I made myself a number of promises for 'next time.'
Well...Blogathon 2004 was cancelled so this year has become that next time. Have I kept those promises? So far, it seems that I have. I picked a more consistent theme -- lighthouse pictures. And I have all the pics taken *before* the blogathon. I took the last one (number 48) just before the sun went down this evening. Except for the ones I took today, the rest have already been downloaded (from my digital camera) or scanned. They've been resized and cropped when needed. My tools are ready. Now all I need to do is upload them and post.
Unlike my regular blog, I will have comments turned on throughout the blogathon. They will be closed shortly after the event ends (to prevent comment spam). Just a few more last minute touch ups to the site area and I'm on my way to sleep. Wish me luck and stop by!
