BlueWolf's Howl

« Lavender Iris in Soft Pastel | Bluewolf's Howl Comics and Art | My Day Lily Bed »

Two bird pictures that were previously posted elsewhere.

This first one was done using oil pastel.

The image is misnamed as "soft pastels" - they were actually done with oil pastels. At the time I uploaded it I was a bit confused about which pastels were "soft" - since the oils are so creamy and soft. Soft pastels are actually the chalky-ish ones and the oil ones are the ones that are like a greasy crayon.

The second one was done actually using soft pastels.

If I remember correctly, this was done completely with the pastels I had on hand. I don't know what brand they are because I got them so very long ago. I didn't use them much because I really didn't know how to use them. I've been watching quite a few YouTube videos on soft pastels and learning how to properly use them. I believe it was after this picture that I bought the NuPastels and Rembrandt pastels.
