I think I found it! And it was right under my nose all this time!
I've been trying to move our blogs (mine and Tracy's) to something new - something with more control over the interface and comments. I like Blogger, but you're dependent upon blogger.com to be able to post. I like Reblogger, but you can't edit the comments. I like greymatter, but it's a bit complicated to put three blogs on one site with two authors...
And then I was surfing my links... Oh, you thought I put those "Blog Reads" up there for your benefit? Well...kinda. I mostly put them up there because I check out my blog (for comments) and then go to read those blogs - from the links. Yeah, I'm lazy...so what? 8^P
So I'm reading Elegant Hack and I finally take a look at Movable Type. I have to admit, I've learned a lot from reading EH. It's deep. It's serious. And it's chock full of information. I didn't know anything about IA before I found the site and it can be a bit intimidating at first. But if you keep reading - and then you reflect on what you've read, it eventually starts to make sense. I remember being involved with/privy to discussions about the look and function of the MailMutt web site (before it got mothballed). It makes more sense now. Gee, and you thought I surfed for fun? Well, sometimes...but sometimes it really *is* work-related (I swear it, mom).
And then I finally took a peek at Movable Type. It looks like it might do the trick! It's designed to have multiple authors and multiple blogs. I hope it's not too hard to install (read: I hope I can figure it out). Geez, I might actually be able to get the blogs upgraded *and* get my studying done. What a happy day!
And yes, if I can get this up and running, I will be donating to them for the use of the software. It's something I believe in. I'm one of the few who actually paid for Paint Shop Pro 4. It was a free download with a payment to eliminate the nag screen. (It still worked after the trial period without registering.) I used the product, I liked the product, and so I paid for the product. That's how it's supposed to work. (It's not supposed to be "I'll use it free unless you force me to pay for it")
I'm sure it's obvious... I'll post again once I get it up and test it a bit.
