Thanks!

Thank you to all the people who wandered here due to posts by Tracy and Hoopty about my sleuthing antics. Their posts were so very sweet as were all the comments. I'm normally a shy person working in the background, but it's nice to be recognized every so often. Batgirl...Spencer loves the parade idea (he's already putting on his costume) and Tracy's practicing "Danke Shoen" (a la Ferris Bueller) - see what you started with that one? *giggle*

Well...traditions come and go...and children must one day grow... We finally got it out in the open here about Santa Claus. Spencer's 8 now and we suspected last year that he was claiming belief merely to pander to our needs for him to believe. We had a long talk about all of it. He's pretty cool with all of it. He doesn't seem disappointed - although he is looking at us suspiciously. He's not really sure if he should believe us --- we told him that his belief/non-belief did not affect the amount or type of toys he would get. I think he's making a list and checking it twice... [He did seem a bit relieved to know that MY mom still sends me gifts marked "From Santa" - so he's hopeful.] He's doing much better this year about keeping the gifts a surprise. Last year it was very easy for Tracy to wiggle information out of him about what she was getting from him (and sometimes from me!). This year I briefed him. No, she will not *really* give you a million dollars if you tell her. No, she will not really tell you about the big present in the trunk (for you) - even if you DO tell her what her present is... And it's working! She's thwarted this year... well...*sheepish blush*...she did wiggle ONE of the presents out of me already...but only that one...I swear...

Oh...and we got onto a dinner conversation about Christmas around the world. We were a little unsure about some of the countries, so it became a "school project" (we homeschool). I found the best site that was packed with information about most of the countries around the world: http://www.christmas.com/worldview/
