
This photo was shot at Bathtub Beach. It's called Bathtub Beach because of the coral reef that protects the shore at low tide. At high tide, there's a few inches of water above the coral you see in this shot. At low tide, the water recedes to the far side of the coral, leaving a "bathtub" by the shore.
I like this image because it excites my imagination. As I gaze at the photo, I imagine a miniature world where time cycles much faster than our sense of it. Perhaps that's the way the little horseshoe crabs who live here see it too.
