Spring Cleaning

Yes, spring is here with its cleaning frenzy...

The small pause that I have while I wait for my transcripts to be evaluated has found me in a organizing whirlwind. I finally got that stack of pictures and scanned them. I pulled out a ton of old books and sent them to their new owners. And I finally took those pictures and had them enlarged and framed.

The scanned pictures still need to be uploaded and the photoblog needs some serious revamping. I will be working on that this week and hopefully come up with a more snazzy look and more organized layout. And, of course, the new pictures will be uploaded. Two of those pics were enlarged (I'll show you once I get them uploaded), framed and hung in the kitchen. As you can imagine, they were placed in the kitchen because they're food-related... One is of a cup of expresso coffee and the other is an antipasto that my mother made.

I also made an enlargement (8 X 10) of the antipasto for my mom to hang in her kitchen. She was so tickled about that. We had a cookout for "the moms" at my brother's house yesterday. I also gave her a framed set of pictures of her grandson that I had taken last year. He was in his bunny sleeper and was crawling on the floor. The three shots show him crawling, hunching up, and then going "boom" on the floor (like the effort to crawl had completely exhausted him). It's a cute set and I placed them diagonally in a frame for her.

Well, I hope all the moms out there had a wonderful Mother's Day! I think the best present I gave my mom this year was on Saturday. She had finished doing all the things on her "to do" list and called to chat. I could tell she was kind of bored and lonely. I asked her what she was going to do that afternoon/evening and she said..."oh, nothing." Then she asked me what I was going to do that evening..."oh, nothing." [*wink* I'm always doing something - reading, writing, fixing blogs, etc... there never seems enough time to do all that I want to do] So I suggested that we get together and do "nothing" together. She was so tickled. I think that Saturday afternoon was really my mother's day gift to her.
