Every Dog...

Okay, now who thought this one up? A fire hydrant right on the curb. Just in the right spot to get smacked when a large truck (like the one that empties the dumpster) comes careening around the corner.

Of course, I must admit - I've yet to see the trashman take the corner on two wheels, but ya never know. They could change drivers and it could happen....

I always think fire hydrants look so weird - we don't have them at all. We do have hydrants the fire brigade can use but they're set down into the pavement/road with a little metal cover over them. We also have yellow signs on walls with a big H on them and some numbers. For years I wondered what they were - apparently they tell firemen where the nearest hydrant is. The numbers tell them how many yards away it is :)
