I found the Oak Grove Cemetery. It's about 5 min from my house. It's a HUGE one!
I saw an old man walking, and asked him if he was the caretaker. [Okay, so it was very non-PC/stereotypical of me, but he *was* walking instead of driving to his loved one's site...] He asked if I was looking for the Lizzie Borden site. I said yes...and he gave me directions to get there.
If you go to the Registration Office (even though it's closed now), you'll see arrows painted on the road. Follow the arrows and it will take you right to the graves. [What luck, eh?]
I found the site and took a few pictures. As I was getting ready to leave, another car pulled up. Out of the car popped a tour guide and three tourists (who are actually *staying* at the Borden B&B). I stayed for a few extra minutes and found out some amazing things about the history of this place...
The picture below is of the tour guide and two children (mom stepped out of the pic). The family marker is to the left of them and they're taking a picture of the headstones of the father and stepmother (the two murder victims).
more to come....
