C'est La Vie
Now that I've accepted myself as myself
I turn toward you to do the same
I spill my guts out
Covering the table and dripping to the floor
Only to be met by your ignorant laugh
A skeleton sticks its foot
In the door every time it's opened
To be crushed inevitably
I slam the door
Afraid that you won't accept me
If I could find a way
To explain without offense
I wouldn't hesitate to expose myself
So you could understand the jokes
That come from a lowering of the glasses
Tilting the eyebrows slightly upward
As a personal question.
Just a joke
Which isn't really funny when it's true
Or you may run away and hide
From the possibility of being sought after, but
Such is life...
