Future Woman, I Call Thee Sappho

Sappho, goddess of lesbian love,
Why do you allude me?
I once chased after you
With Diana's swift legs
And I beckoned to you
More times than Echo would allow
But you still would not comfort me.
I have given you
All of my love
And most of my life
Searching for that magic moment
When you smile on me
And I would be loved.
Sing, heavenly muse,
And keep me from the siren's call
That tries to dash my ship
Upon these stone hearts.
Patience be my friend
And let me go on
Quietly among the ladies.
Someday I will happen
Into the relationship
That is sitting in the shadows of the future
Waiting for me
To arrive...
