Initial Interest

Sing, heavenly Muse,
And Sappho
Bring her heart to me.

I touched your soul today
Just by wanting to be near you.
I played pool today
And won every game
Hoping you'd be proud of me.
Today brings me one day
Closer to you.
Yesterday
I saw you
Loved you
And still do.
We danced together
Spent time together
Hopefully, that's the way it will be
Tomorrow
When we meet
The touch that I've longed for
The heartbeat I've listened for
The smile I want to see...
I will hold you
I will love you
As I always have.
And if you want to go
You are free
For I can't own you.
My only hope
Is for your happiness.
I will give you my love
And try my best
But if happiness
You cannot find
I will not delay you
Any longer.
I only ask
For the chance
To try...
