My Dana

The love of all time not given time
So much is between us
Miles, people, circumstance
I stand on my love for you
And I can see across the miles
You stand on your love for me
And you can see around the others
Together we adapt to and sadly accept
The circumstances we have to work around

The love of all time sought for so long
You and I both searching the wrong faces
Our hearts in the hands of those who betray us
Told for years - that's all you'll be given
Make do with less than you desire and deserve
I prove Truth is different from what you are told
Totally accepting you as you are, as you do, as you feel
I show to you how very much you are worth
You prove Truth is different from what I am told
Totally loving me as a person, as a friend, as a lover
You show to me how very much I am loved

Overpowering love which is not given time
Your first opening up was: hello - I am leaving
The first time I hurt you was: but I have to go to work
As available time is chiseled away beneath us
We attempt to reveal our naked selves quickly and thoroughly
Hoping it will be enough, knowing it isn't - there is too much to us
And I desire to give you more than I can, so far away
My touch, a kiss, a caress only a possibility; deeply yearned for
Loving each other enough to ache and still reach out
Grasping for what we can, while we can, where we can
Souls shouting - There you are! Where have you been?
The love of all time not given time
