Nocturnal Revelations

Lay your body down
Eyes open, mind smiling
While I hum songs that lull you to sleep
Just don't mistake my song for a siren's call
For I love you for the moment
And I'll love you for always
One night stands are for those whom the gallows
Are built as the night turns toward the day
Let them love and leave their memories behind
I want to share your soul
And explore its depths
Never to surface for air
While you blaze a trail
Through a stone-coated heart
Which is softer than cotton inside
A heart that beats to the rhythm of your smile
