Since we're on this sidecar of when houses are not lighthouses... Let's look at the other side of things. When are lights not lighthouses? When it's the Padanaram Breakwater Light!
[Don't worry, there are plenty of lighthouse pics to come. I haven't run out yet.]
It took quite a long time to find my way to the area on the map where the Padanaram Breakwater Light was supposed to be (in Dartmouth, Massachusetts). I looked and couldn't see anything that resembled a lighthouse. Granted, the area was all private property and I could only see the water between the trees and houses. So I knocked on the door with the best view. Scott answered and I asked him about the light. He mentioned that there was something at the end of the pile of rocks that looked like a reflector that flashed every once in a while. Ah-ha! The Padanaram Breakwater Light.
So here it is in all its glory...

I mention this because the Padanaram Breakwater Light is not the only light that I found on the map like this. [Which is why I bemoan the dearth of lighthouse maps...] I searched high and low for the 'other' lighthouse in Little Compton, Rhode Island. I think this is what the map was marking:
