Accelerated Exam Study

So...how far has she gotten in her studies?

Well, it's been a while since I last picked up the book - so I started with a review of the chapters I had already read. I'm using the Syngress Study Guide and the Syngress "Test Yourself" books. This is a great duo since the study chapters correspond with the test chapters. I read a chapter and then do the chapter questions. There's a practice exam at the end of the book which will help once I get there.

The chapter exams are going well so far. The review was quick and I was surprised to see how much of the material I had retained (even though it's been a while). I'm getting most of the chapter questions correct ... and the ones I missed were narrowed to two choices (one which was correct) or were understood once I looked at the answer key. Yes, you can even learn from the quiz.

So I'm on Chapter 9 now. I've covered all the "review" material and now I'm on new material. There are a total of 31 chapters. This test covers the material for 4 tests. The other thing that's unique about this exam is that you only get one shot at it. I have one shot at getting a pass on this exam. Let me correct that....one shot on this FREE exam. If I fail, I will have to take (and pay for) 4 exams to cover the same material. It's a lot of pressure. Maybe that's why I've been putting off studying and taking this test.

I'm going to take the practice exam (on CD) tomorrow and post the score. It's good to see such a low score at the beginning...and then watch your score rise as your studying continues. I need the encouragement.
