The Season Begins

The Holiday Season has officially started. I felt it on my way home from Stuart this afternoon. Sometimes the feeling comes, sometimes it doesn't. I remember not too long ago being very depressed...it was December 24th and the feeling hadn't come yet. I ended up not having/celebrating a holiday that year. I figure it makes me one year younger. 8^P

This year it came early. I have no idea why. I'm in Florida for goodness sake! It's not like the weather got colder. It's not like we had our first snow (ha ha ha). I don't know why it came, just like I don't know why it didn't come in other years. I just know the feeling. And it's here.

Just when I think that I've gone completely insane and that my imagination has taken on a life of its own...it comes on tv. The commercial. My most favorite commercial. For those of you without a Publix supermarket in the area, my sympathies. For those who are lucky enough to live near a Publix, I'm talking about their Thanksgiving commercial. It's the most adorable commercial I've ever seen. It's about these two little salt and pepper shakers on the table. They come alive and you see their expressions as they're used for the meal. Then the kid gets his hands on one. He dunks the Pilgrim upside down in his mashed potatoes. I can't help but laugh every time I see it. Then he drops the mashed potato covered shaker to the floor. The dog notices and comes over to feast on the shaker - but the mom picks it up and wipes it off before the dog can get to it.

I want those shakers!

I'm sure I'll find a stack of them next time I go grocery shopping. They're only $5...and I'll just pop them in the cart (probably sometime this week). But I just had to mention that I want them I want them I want them I want them I want them I want them I want them I want them I want them I want them I want them I want them I want them I want them I want them I want them...

Ahem... *smoothing hair and shirt* The season has certainly arrived.
