Widow's Walk

wwalk.gif This is one of the reasons I like Fall River. Whenever I get lost or just roam around, I always bump into -- something interesting.

I "found" this building on my way home from a Microsoft test. The testing center that I use is a few streets over from here. When I first saw the house, it was displayed as "for sale." I've always wanted an interesting house. (No, I didn't buy it...) Since then, I've watched as various work crews have gone about their business of fixing this and that. The sign on the front reads "Commercial Space Parking." I still don't know who bought it or what it will eventually be -- but, one day there will be something going on in there. And I'll get to look inside!

I wonder what the ghosts in the attics think about all this progress?

I have been searching for a good picture of a Widow's Walk to be used on the book cover for my yet to be POD, "The Mystery of Ancestral Rites". This is a YA story.
Is your picture copyrighted? If so, can you give me permission to use it, and if you have a price, how much? If it is not copyright, I'd still like your permission, and I'll happily send you a copy if you wish.

My grandparent use to own a house in Westport, near Elephant Rock Beach, that looked VERY similar. It's funny that you mentioned the ghost. They use to keep a bust in their widow's watch, which they always said was the ghost of the former owner, waiting for her husband to return. Even after they sold it, the bust stayed behind. Every time we'd drive by, we'd check the window to see if her ghost remained :)

If the Braga Bridge wasn't behind it, you'd swear that the house was someplace else. I love the way you framed it, wolfie. Thanks for posting it!
