A Fairy Tale
I look upon the winding path
We've taken to get here
And it was not that long ago
When your heart was not so near
And it was only yesterday
That you held me at arm's length
Yet, even then I called to you
While you tested my love's strength
Perhaps you fear I'll fail you
As others have done before
Or maybe fear you'll break my heart
Since you love another more
But yesterday has come and gone
And you say I made you smile
So today you sit a little closer
A large journey in such a short while
And tomorrow will quickly make a past
Out of the present that's today
Looking at the road we're on
Love could eventually come our way
Who would have thought five years ago
That we'd be where we are?
So no matter how much it may blink
I'll stay wishing on your bright star
