A Soldier's Closet

Gay love
Is the highest form
Of human's love
For one another
Mostly because it
Discards all training
From our unfortunate straight society
And crosses any barriers
That the world may put in our way.
It makes us better soldiers
Stronger because of what we go through
And how it takes its toll on our gay nerves.
Countless homosexuals have died for our country
Yet when we -- characterized as queens and dykes
Try to serve our country;
(While straights run in fear of approaching war)
We stand the chance of being discarded
As a defective person
When we have more to fight for
Protecting what few rights we have
Against their total obliteration.
We the willing
Are not allowed to serve
Because we are...
