Candid Construction

The workers all wear bright bandanas
Some wear cowboy boots with heels
Putting hard hats over their hard heads
And with "Men Only" each deals.
Afraid of the Communist bogey man
And Satan-run, non-union shops
Digesting almost every American myth
But, at UFOs his believing stops.
"Women, sure they're equal now -
I spoke to one just the other day.
I told her to take her pretty lil ass
Out of a working man's way."
But those stories must be make believe
About ETs and blinking lights,
Because if they're true, he's so afraid
That they would want equal rights.
If it were true, he'd know it -
Would've seen them on the news
Or, at very least, he would have seen
Illegal ones in his work crews.
What I find beyond belief,
And it may be a personal quirk,
But, would you travel a star away
For low-paid, menial work?
