There once was a man
Great enough to count time by
His life began with the Immaculate Conception
That's why the commercials begin so early
To give gifts time to gestate
He lived life rejected by his own people
That's why all the seats at the table are taken
But the whole family is not represented
His miracles were criticized by His rabbis
That's why after we open our gifts
The return lines are so long
He died to pay for our sins
That's why there are no guilty feelings
After the office party
He was nailed to a wooden cross
That's why we take a tree
And decorate it so brightly
In the Year of Our Lord, AD
After death means those thirty years are not counted
