Day Dreamer

I unfold my origami heart to you
Like pages of a well-known book
Worn by the incessant turning
Of people who read for sport
Idiots bump their heads
Against brick walls
In search of laughter
Too dizzy to hear it
Tucked in a crease for later
I feel you in the room
Before my eyes can see you
I tell you without whispers
So many intimate thoughts
That your ears need sideboards
It takes many folds
To make a square heart
And each must be done
In sequence
One at a time.
