Day Old Bread

All I want is to make you happy
Knowing I can do somehting to make that a reality
Fulfills a need in me.
Even if leaving you alone makes you
Happy
I would do that too
And I would be able to say
(even though I'm not with you)
That I made you happy
Which is something that those
Lucky enough to share your company
(But not your companionship-
You save the best part for yourself)
Cannot claim.
But if my company will make you
Happy
And if you want me (truly WANT me)
You can have me
(Although now you may have to work harder for it)
For all I want is to make you happy.
