Silly Rabbit

If I told you, "I love you,"
Would you run and hide?
Or would you feel safe to admit
The love you've so far denied?

Should I dare divulge
How you dance in my dreams
To the symphony of our heartbeats
In vivid past life scenes?

Should I bow down on one knee
And beg you to please forgive
The girl who died in your absence
So that we may gracefully live?

I send to you my love thoughts
Throughtout the working day
Yet, when we finally meet again
It seems like I've nothing to say

We sit in bashful silence
Protecting the secret side of self
Both afraid to make the first move
Two hearts collecting dust on the same shelf.
