The Three Faces of Texas

A look, a smile
A passing glance
A hope that you
Might take a chance
A frown, a tear
A heavy sigh
Knowing that soon
I'll be saying good-by
And as I live each day in regret
That I won't be staying longer
I seem to find my feelings
To be growing ever stronger
And as you coyly go on
Acting, oh, so shy
I guess you don't see
That time is passing us by?
Please take what I have to offer
While I offer it now
Remember loves in this type of life
Don't last long anyhow
But if it is predestined
To be more, then fine
You know I'll surely be back
In less than three years time.
If it turns out that strong,
It'll withstand a separation
And I'll be coming back to Texas
With you my final destination
And if there's nothing there
At least we'll know for real
Then I won't be wondering
What did we really feel?
Are we only friends?
Or could I lead you to feel more?
I wish you would give me a chance
To reopen your seemingly closed door
You never know what could happen
Until you give it a try
You might just fall in love
Don't let the chance go by.
A time, a moment
A fitting place
I'm captured again
By a pretty face
A gamble, a throw
Of the long famed dice
Knowing that lightning
Never strikes twice.
