I joined the ISOC (Internet Society) mostly out of curiosity. Today I received one of their newsletters. It's a typical organization newsletter - you scroll down and say "yeah, yeah, yeah" as you skim the articles. Then I ran across this entry in the meeting notes from the Chicago Chapter:
* Planned a "Networking Night" meeting for our October 2002 meeting,
where we will have firms who can place people into jobs come out
and meet our members and guests, in hopes of generating some leads
and placement in the stagnated IT economy here in Chicago.
I have to admit. I'm very impressed.
